Festive Christmas Trees
Do you have lots of fun craft supplies that are just sitting around in boxes? Our Art room has been donated lots of items that are perfect for creating. Using donated items and scrap papers, my students created delightful festive trees for Christmas.
What you will need:
Directions:
Step 1. Start with previously painted tagboard cut into 1/2″ strips.
Step 2. Glue strips down in a stair-step fashion.
Step 3. Add a trunk to the bottom of the tree.
Step 4. Add details to create a festive tree.
Some items that were added were scraps of painted paper cut into shapes then sparkles were added. Use tacky glue to really hold sequins and bigger items down on the paper.
Step 5: Paint color in Background
Use a flat paintbrush and tempera paint then dry brush (small amount of paint on the tip of the paintbrush) on the background paper. This will add some extra color and extra sparkle.

Keep Creating and Enjoy some Sparkle!

How do you handle the distribution of the sequins? I have a hard time with students taking way too many and leaving very little for other students. Thanks!

I write on the board “Use 7-9 sequins” and explain that we leave some for others. 🙂
