Bird Nests

Spring is one of my favorite seasons to celebrate. What is not to love? I find the beautiful flowers starting to bloom and green grass exploding with color, gives my soul a fresh start for the year. A highlight of spring is when the birds are chirping. I love finding adorable nests in our trees and spotting little eggs that soon follow. Why not celebrate spring and create a beautiful little nest filled with air dry clay eggs!

This mixed media projects uses tempera paint, construction paper or painted paper (if you desire) and air dry clay. My favorite air dry clay is Crayola’s Model Magic.

This lesson is great for ages 6-11, but can be adapted for older students when using these directions.

Thank you for this beautiful lesson! I will try this in our homeschool co-op this week. Does it work to have the students paint the model magic before it fully dries?

Hi Susan, no it does not have to dry. 🙂
